The Foundation is dedicated to advancing the mission of The Center for Health Care Services, and with the help of committed supporters like you, we can continue to support their work of helping people in crisis and transforming lives. Saving Lives. CHCS is a lifeline, improving the lives of people with mental health disorders, substance use challenges, and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Based on the principles of respect and empowerment, we transform lives that transform communities.
Reducing Cost. Our jail diversion program and treatment centers not only provide economic and fiscal benefits for Bexar County but also improve outcomes for persons with mental disorders and enhance overall community well-being.
Serving Children. A child’s mental health has an interactive relationship with their physical health, affecting their ability to succeed in school and society. At CHCS, we provide the care to the one in five children who require some form of behavioral/mental healthcare.
Prevention/Intervention. Promoting mental health and preventing mental and/or substance use disorders through early intervention, are fundamental to the CHCS mission to reduce the impact of behavioral health conditions in our community.
For more than 50 years, CHCS has stayed true to its mission of treating anyone in need. Our team of dedicated professionals works hard to ensure that everyone who needs our help gets it. We offer hope.
Tribute Giving
An honor gift can be a thoughtful way of showing your appreciation for someone special, or provide a unique way to celebrate special people or special occasions, such as birthdays, weddings and anniversaries.

Many times we will receive honor gifts from families who want to show their gratitude to someone who has provided great care for their loved one.
A memorial gift offers a beautiful way to honor the memory of a loved one while also extending sympathy to the family.
No minimum is required for a gift. Your loved one will receive a special acknowledgment card that recognizes the honoree and the donor.
Wish List
The Center for Health Care Services works hard to provide outstanding services and necessary supplies that will help our clients on their journey to hope and healing.
When we don’t have the necessary funding to support the purchase of these supplies, we turn to the community for assistance. Below you will find an ever growing wish-list that outlines items needed to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
